Should You Have A Destination Wedding?

If Forbes says it, it must be true right? Destination Weddings are back and here to stay!

Certainly a bit of a dip due to *gestures everything* in recent years, but if current trends are predicting right we should see an upswing in all things vacation matrimony!

But is it the right choice for you? We’re not saying it’ll be the next Kenneth Branaugh film, but there are pros and cons to consider like any big decision.

So, let’s take a look a bit further.

Pros And Cons Of A Destination Weddings

Con: Budgeting To the Next Level

Weddings are almost always a big financial undertaking, so it shouldn’t be any surprise that a destination wedding only takes that one step further. With an average baseline cost of $35,000, know that you are only going up from there.

So consider what this specific addition is bringing to your overall experience, and consider what deductions you might need to make to save on budget. Which leads me to…

Pro: An Excuse To Be Exclusive With Guests

Destination weddings call for more intimate exclusive lists, due to budgeting. This also can depend on deciding, line by line, what you would want your guests to pay for vs what you will be paying for them.

So if you’re looking for a smaller wedding to begin with, a destination wedding could be what’s in store for your future.

Con: Global Complications

Especially in recent years, this is a concern for many couples going into the wedding season. But restrictions are lifting, and international travel is overall becoming much, much easier again. Barring any further shutdowns, it might be your best bet to start planning an international experience sooner rather than later.

Pro: Top Tier Wedding Photos/Experiences

Need we say more? The allure of staying at the Four Seasons in Punta Mita, Mexico or the Florblanca Resort in Costa Rica should make a destination wedding a no brainer. You’re making the work of your photographers and videographers incredibly easy by giving them incredibly scenic productions to build off of.
